pencil bag

Thanks for all your nice comments, I really liked them.

Unfortunately school is not leaving me a lot of time for sewing, but I really like it and try to find the time.

This time I made a pencil bag after Bianca’s tutorial.

To fit in my pencils, I cut out 52 x 13 cms.

You cannot staple wax cloth, so I used Stylefix again and sewing was quite easy.

Cherry pit pillow

I have sewn a comforter ( cherry pit pillow ) for my friend.

Here is the tutorial:

- 2 fabric pieces ( cotton )  20 x 25 cms for the inner layer
- 2 pretty fabric pieces ( cotton ) 20 x 25 cms for the outer layer

- stitch the 2 pieces for the inner layer together with the right sides facing – leave 10 cms open
- stitch the 2 pieces for the outer layer together with the right sides facing – leave 15 cms open
- turn over both cover to their good sides – iron.

- fill the inner cover with appr. 350 gr cherry pits and close the opening
- insert the inner pillow into the outer one
- tape the opening with STYLEFIX
- close the opening with large stitches, so it will be easy to open up the outer cover to wash it

Owls on the sofa!

No, just a fake, done with a image editing program.

Kissen Patchwork

… but I wanted to show you the pillow:

Sofa Kissen

I used two pieces of  corduroy and a piece of batting, putting them together like a sandwich. Draw several dots and start sewing around them wildly. Then start cutting away the inside of the dots, but only the upper layer. Cut away the batting, too, if you wish, but only around the dots to keep thema little bulky.

Punkte nähen

The technique is quite similar to the double-decker blanket. I’m sure this would be a cool project for teens, too. I got my inspiration  HERE.

gathered leggins and shirt

Some of you wanted to know how to gather the leggings, it’s quite simple:

Raffung

Just attach the buttonhole backing to a piece of old jeans or just sew a regular buttonhole. Attach the piece on the side of the leggins, let the  piece end at the hem of the leggins. Sew two tunnels, pull the ribbons through and fix them at the hemline. Finish the leggins as usual.

Leggings selber nähen

Very cool if you let the jeans pieces fringe at the sides.

Raffleggings

Now the matching shirt:

Shirt selber nähen

I chose HILDE , cut out an ornament and stitched it on a piece of jeans. Cut out the jeans and fixed it on the shirt with enough room to let it fringe, too. For the elbow patches I used ovals of the same fabric.

STAR buttons

große Jeansknöpfe

Quite a lot of you had a sample of our new buttons with their last order.

Sternenknöpfe

Those oversized jeans buttons in various colours fit a lot of different styles and are easy to handle: Just put a piece of felt on a hard surface, place the button upside down on it. Drill the little nail through the fabric, place it on the button and use a hammer to fix it.

If your sewing machines are not able to stitch proper buttonholes that size, look at this video tutorial. Thank you, Sanna!

Knopflöcher

Easy to use are our new backings of faux leather. Just push it out, stitch it on, zigzag the buttonhole and cut it open. Of course they are perfect for all different kinds of embellishments, not just buttons!

HUUPS! offers this embroidered star buttonhole file as a freebie.
