Karla is a knee-long coat, that does not only look good but is also very elaborate!

It has a balloon shape from the waist down, that is completed by puffy arms.

The hood is buttoned on hiding an small band collar underneath making the coat suitbale for all types of weather. The cuffs are hidden under arm warmers that are easily pulled up revealing the lining. A wind shield behind the zipper protects from cold winds and prevents itching on the neck. The side pockets are large enough to keep little hands warm and shelter precious treasures.

The coat is oversized in width and length. If you are looking for a narrow and short coat you are advised to take tha smaller size. Please check and adjust the sleeves then!

The look changes with the fabric choice: made from plain colors the pattern shines giving it a classy look. When choosing flower prints you may achieve a more playful character or use the typical farbenmix fabric mix and you are more on the cool side.

The dividing seams are perfectly suitable for ribbon embellishment. Just let your imagination start embellishing!

Karla has been made for wintertime, having room for thick lining. When using lighter linings it is also suitable for transition time.

Best fabric choices for the exterior are wind- and waterrepelling outdoor materials, poplin, soft corduroy or fine wool are also suitable. For lining fabrics we recommend fleece, bouclé, minky, winter terry cloth and the like. Add batting for an even warmer coat. The cuffs are made from elastic knit or a special knit for cuffs.

It is also possible to sew Karla as an simple coat for boys and girls without the balloon waist and puffy arms.

This pattern is time-consuming. Your endurance however will be rewarded by an exclusive one-of-kind coat, that your girl will be wearing for the coming two winters at least: as a coat and the following year as a jacket!
